Astrology: Planetary Energies

Back to the discussion in regards to the breakdown of Astrology in my first article—I’d love to share with you how the planets not only interact but effect situations, moods, and/or energies. Similar to how the moon effects the tides of large bodies of water; it is the same concept.

The Sun

Astrologically speaking, Sundays are ruled by The Sun, however what does that mean to you and why should you even take that into consideration?

Let’s breakdown the esoteric meaning our star; The Sun. The sun represents the Self in relation to universal and cosmic concepts. The Sun symbolizes power, life, strength, energy, force and clarity. It is considered to be a masculine planet.

Channeling the energies of The Sun is beneficial for pursuits aimed at gaining influence in society, fame, high prestige, gaining confidence and self-reliance. All of these vital and powerful qualities are inhabited by the sun (if you choose to channel its’ energy). Astrologically and esoterically speaking, channeling the energies of the sun (especially on a Sunday) is a great time for applying yourself to superiors, important people, career advancement, advertising and making a presentation to speak in front of a large audience.

The Moon

Mondays are ruled by The Moon.

The Moon symbolizes femininity, immortality and eternity—enlightenment and/or the dark side of nature herself. The spiritual aspects of The Moon are linked to: intuition, psychic abilities, creativity and wisdom.

There is much we can learn from her.

Channeling the energies of The Moon, specifically on Mondays are prosperous in regards to all related aspects mentioned above. Such as cooking, having a delicious meal, washing, cleaning and taking care of household chores. It’s a beneficial time for dealing with women, gathering family meetings and nursing babies. Activities started in The Moon hour (separate discussion in next article on planetary hours) are prone to changes, dependent on peoples’ moods and emotions. Reason being, The Moon is ever changing in its’ cycles and conditions—making the esoteric meaning of such to be, ever-changing. It is not advised to start anything important during the this time.

Mars

Tuesdays are ruled by the planet Mars.

Mars symbolizes the God Ares (Mars in Greek myth)—the God of war and astrological ruler of the sign Aries. Mars is the planet of action, passion, energy and desire. Mars is a masculine planet which rules survival instinct, animal instincts of aggression, and anger. Our sexual desires come under the planet of Mars. Indeed the planet is symbolical of new beginnings and initiation.

Channeling the energies of Mars especially on Tuesday are beneficial for increased activity, pursuits which require determination, courage, physical efforts, sports, work with fire and/or sharp instruments. Sexuality is typically enhanced and the probability of a conflict is much higher than usual. During the planetary hours of Mars is a good time to per-say attack enemies or to challenge competitors.

Mercury

Wednesdays are ruled by the planet Mercury.

Mercury is also known as the messenger of Gods, which rules the signs Gemini and Virgo. It is the God of commerce, communication, travel, open-mindedness, new ideas and intellect. It is the planet of the mind—contemplative and thoroughly intellectual.

When channeling the energies of the planet Mercury, more specifically correlating it with its planetary hour and day—it is a beneficial time for intellectual activity. This includes studying, teaching, research, taking exams and everything connected to receiving and/or transferring any kind of information. Mercury enhances dexterity, resourcefulness; patronizes traders but also thieves. It is certainly a wonderful time to start short trips, write a letter/report, to program, chat and send mail.

Jupiter

Thursdays are ruled by the planet Jupiter.

Jupiter is the planet of the abstract mind as it rules higher learning, and bestows an urge upon us for exploring ideas; intellectually and spiritually. Jupiter inhabits ideologies, philosophy, foreign lands and/or concepts— the ruler of expansion and excess. Jupiter rules the astrological sign of Sagittarius. Jupiter is known as the King of Gods in roman mythology and Zeus in Greek Mythology. Jupiter is also known as a large component in evolutionary development; maturity and knowledge gained. The planet Jupiter rules law and judgement as it strives for balance, expansion, good luck, optimism, higher education, abundance, generosity and justice.

Channeling and working with the energies of Jupiter is especially beneficial for most affairs. More specifically those which promote richness, success and prosperity. Its energies helps accelerate development, widening horizons and increasing level of understanding. During Thursdays or the planetary hour of Jupiter is a great time for social meetings, applying for benefits, sponsorships, dealing with affluent, influential, and successful people. Jupiter and its’ correlations are prosperous for the start of a journey (long journeys), philosophical discussions and religious ceremonies.

Venus

Fridays are ruled by the planet Venus.

Venus is a feminine planet which rules the astrological signs Taurus and Libra—associated with the Goddess Venus. In astrology, Venus represent the wife and/or spouse (feminine aspect). Venus symbolizes physical pleasure, beauty, love, partnership, clothes, luxuries and also plays an important part in determining love affairs. She is also known as the morning star. Venus represents the unification of opposites, allure, harmony, affection, aesthetics, appreciation, imagination and inspiration.

When channeling Venus, more-so during her planetary hour and/or day, it is a beneficial time for meetings, acquaintances, dating and asking someone out. It is wonderful for amusements, entertainment, having parties, going to cinemas/theatres, as well as buying fashionable clothes and/or jewelry. There tends to be a mutual sympathy between people during these time periods as Venus enhances these qualities. This helps in cultivating compromise, and to restore broken relationships. Artists, painters and musicians feel inspiration at this time.

Saturn

Saturdays are ruled by the planet Saturn.

Saturn rules the astrological sign of Capricorn. Saturn is connected to the implications of restriction, limitation, death and/or rebirth, meaning and structure within our lives. It is considered a masculine planet that enforces rules, regulations and symbolizes the Father. Saturn reminds us of the limitations and restrictions of time and matter circulating around responsibility, commitment and boundaries. Saturn inherits the qualities of domination, power, authority, construction, stability, long study, observation and unrevealed power.

Channeling the energies of Saturn is an advantageous time for occupations and beginnings which require significant time, patience, understanding, concentration, perseverance and everything related to land and/or immovable property. It is not advised to start a journey or borrow money as in both cases—delays and disappointments spoil the matter. However, its a generous time to ask elders for advice, cool down passions, have a sober glance on a state of matters and to get rid of bad habits and/or addictions.
